Our client is looking for a Sales Manager to join their team. The office is based in Basildon with some travel within Essex.

Do you have Sales Management experience and enjoy coaching and motivating others?

Are you looking for a new role working for a reputable company who are quality orientated and are well known for what they do?

This role would suit someone with previous sales management experience as you will be managing a small team. The company are specialists in the Education sector, specifically within Apprenticeships. They offer Apprenticeship training to businesses within Essex. These businesses could be in a variety of industry sectors and will include offices, care homes and nurseries.

Any experience or knowledge of Apprenticeships would be very advantageous. Previous experience as an Employer Engagement Manager or Apprenticeships Sales Manager would be preferable although experienced Sales Managers from other industry sectors will also be considered.

Role purpose

To lead and manage the Sales Team to meet all operational requirements and business objectives.

Key tasks


* Work with the Directors to set and approve the sales team's targets
* To have the necessary structure in place to enable new and existing business opportunities to be sourced for team enabling targets to be met or exceeded
* Maintain relationships with associates, customers, brokers and external bodies where necessary

Staff Functions

* To role model good inter-departmental working
* Set agreed objectives for team
* Supervise, coach, motivate and mentor own team members to meet their personal targets and performance indicators
* Conduct informal and formal performance reviews, setting and monitoring smart objectives
* Identify recruitment needs, seeking appropriate authorisation and undertake all recruitment processes through to job offer
* Involved in staff inductions
* Conduct performance reviews
* Identify, implement staff training needs and ensure all team members have a relevant and current training plan
* Provide training and education sessions on a regular basis within the sales department

Hours: 40 hours per week. Monday - Friday

Holidays: 20 days per annum + 8 days public holiday, rising to 24 days with length of service

Salary:£30,000 per annum + commission

Benefits: Phone, laptop, dongle, iPad

Travel:Office based in Basildon with some travel within Essex. Business mileage paid at 45p per mile
