About the Role:
On a daily basis Affinity Trust empower people to meet their aspirations and goals in life, and to live as independently as they wish.
They work with people who have a range of support needs and their focus is always on the individual and how best to support them to live the type of life they wish to live, to have fun and make memories!
In this role you will be working in a Supported Living service or Outreach service.
The people we support have varying levels of support needs.
They also support people who have a learning disability, who may also be on the autism spectrum, have physical disabilities, complex needs, associated health needs such as epilepsy or mental health needs or dementia.
Some of the people they support may at times show that they are unhappy through their behaviour. This can be a way for them to control their environment when they are unable to communicate their hopes, needs and fears. You will work as part of a team to support them to make structured changes to their life to achieve a positive outcome.
Affinity Trust always base their support on the specific needs, choices and aspirations of the individual following our principles of person-centred support.
You will need to have excellent communication and be able to use a range of skills to support people, and enable them to actively participate in choices about their life.
For this role you need to be patient, have good sense of humour and be able to support people through good and bad days. They are looking for people who are committed to supporting the people they work with who are honest and reliable and who can be creative and flexible in their approach, enhancing peoples opportunities to grow and develop.
