The scheme recently expanded to South West London so now you can saddle up anywhere from Shepherds Bush to Canary Wharf and Wandsworth Town to Camden TownAs a Mobile Operative working for the iconic London Cycle Hire Scheme, you will be Responsible to the team leader for the triage of bicycles, ensuring their road worthiness and carrying out basic functional checks and repairs. You will also responsible for the small scale redistribution of bicycles around the scheme. You will be part of a team of 28 mobile operatives reporting in to one of ten team leaders at either Penton Street or Clapham depotsKey Responsibilities Include:Responsible for all on-street routine bicycle maintenance across the cycle hire scheme Responsible for light maintenance work at breakdown locations, by way of a Customer service request. Responsible for performing all duties in-line with all in-force statutory & regulatory (external), as well as Serco/Cycle Hire (internal), specific policies and procedures, including but not limited to: Health & Safety, ISO9001-2008, Serco Management System (SMS), IT & Security, Highways, and Environmental. Ensure the identification and reporting of any breaches of security and fraud, and the role holder's responsibilities around avoidance and reduction in crime, vandalism and abuse relating to Serco/Cycle Hire assets and staff. Responsible for matters of safety with respect to yourself and others at all times, both on-street and at any Depot site. Complete all paperwork as required, in an accurate, legible and timely manner. Responsible for responding to questions and/or concerns from members of the public, our Clients or Sponsors, as appropriate and in accordance with in-force policies and procedures relating to communications. Escalation and referral to be made to the Team Leader or Depot Operations Manager. Complete other duties as directed by a Team Leader or Operations Manager Responsible for ensuring skills and knowledge are adequate to perform all duties, and where necessary escalate and request support, training or advice to meet role standards Key Skills, Experience & Qualifications:Exceptional Customer relationship skills Be fully trained in manufacturer specifications to assemble, maintain, clean and repair scheme bikes Problem solving skills Knowledge and experience of Health & Safety Must be willing and prepared to travel around London on bicycle and moped Must be willing and able to pass random Drug & Alcohol testing In return we offer a competitive salary, a benefits package including contributory pension, excellent working conditions and the opportunity to further your career within a supportive environmentOn occasion we receive significantly more applicants than expected for some vacancies and under such circumstances we reserve the right to bring forward the closing date of the advertisement.
