Tunbridge Wells Mental Health Resource Ltd (MHR) is a highly respected established Charity delivering mental health services to individuals across Kent. The Charity is steadily growing and a new project Serenity Cafe has recently been funded.

We are currently seeking an experienced Mental Health Project Worker to support development of this valuable service.

Serenity Caf?? will offer an out of hours support service for adults suffering from (or developing) mental health problems and their carers. The Caf?? will provide a safe, supportive, nurturing environment for people who are in or close to crisis point. Our focus will be increasing confidence and self-esteem, promoting independence and strategies for managing recovery as well as providing emotional and practical mental health support. It is intended that pressure on Police, A & E. GP's and acute mental health services will reduce.

You must have understanding and empathy for the needs of people with mental health problems, and experience in a role supporting vulnerable adults. You will have excellent communication skills, awareness of mental health resources within the community and knowledge of delivering mental health services.

Willingness to work using your own initiative and a commitment to contribute to the success of this new project is essential.

The post is part time, for 8 hours a week, initially offered for 6 months. Working hours are Friday 5.30pm - 9.30pm and Sunday 2.30pm - 6.30pm. MHR offer 25 days annual leave pro rata and career development opportunities.
